Quality Service with Concrete Floor Solutions that Cannot Be Beat

Leonard Hartford, who had spent 30+ years working in manufacturing, had seen many industrial concrete floor solutions that were available at the time. Most concrete flooring solutions were “topical” solutions that involved applying various paints, urethanes, and other chemicals that would look great initially but would ultimately fail (crack, scratch, peel) and thus required costly on-going maintenance.

Leonard felt that there must be a “better way”; a solution that would last while minimizing long-run maintenance cost. Leonard discovered concrete floor polishing which, at the time, was a relatively new, break-through flooring solution. It didn’t take Leonard long to realize the broad potential of polished concrete, not only in industrial applications but in a wide range of commercial and residential settings as well. And in early 2003, after a bit of research, Carolina Concrete Floor Polishing LLC (CCFP) was born. Within a few months Leonard recruited three men, Louis McDowell, Fred McKinney, and Knikkie Mosely… and this team was on their way.

Over the next 16+ years, Leonard and his team worked to perfect the concrete polishing process, adding a full array of decorative options that where highly attractive to both commercial and residential customers. CCFP continued to grow and expand polishing over 6 million square feet of concrete flooring throughout the Carolina’s, while earning a stellar reputation for honesty, quality, and innovation.

At the end of his storied career, Leonard knew he wanted CCFP to live beyond himself and in October of 2019 Leonard sold CCFP to the current ownership. Leonard, Louis, Fred, and Knikkie along with other CCFP employees all remained on-board and have helped to make the transition a highly successful one.

Since the acquisition, CCFP has continued to expand and grow, while making major investments to build our team and to modernize our equipment base with new technology. By every metric, 2020 was a record year for CCFP and we want to thank our many loyal customers that have made this possible.

On a personal note; however, we move forward into 2021 with heavy hearts. Leonard Hartford passed on 1/23/21 and anyone that knew him lost a friend. So, here’s to you Leonard, thank you for all you did for us both professionally and personally. You will be missed and remembered as we work to take CCFP to the next level.
